This Privacy Policy explains how Syra ("we," "us," "our"), operated by YNJMohan Nanduri, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use syraabroad.com (the "Platform").

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Name and email address (at signup)
• Password (stored in encrypted/hashed form — we never store or can see your actual password)
• Study preferences (target exam, target score, study time availability, language preference)

Information collected automatically as you use the Platform:

• Study progress (modules completed, sessions, streaks, minutes studied)
• Practice question responses and performance data
• Voice/text questions you ask Syra's "Ask Syra" doubt-resolution feature

Payment information:

• Payment processing is handled entirely by Razorpay, our third-party payment gateway. We do not collect or store your card number, UPI ID, or bank details on our own servers. We retain only a payment confirmation record (payment ID, amount, timestamp, status) for accounting and support purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Personalize your learning plan and track your progress
• Process your payment and manage your subscription
• Generate live, AI-assisted explanations in response to your study questions
• Respond to support requests and grievances
• Improve the Platform's content and features

3. Third-Party Services We Use

To operate the Platform, certain information is processed by trusted third-party service providers, strictly for the purpose of delivering the service:

• Razorpay — for payment processing
• A third-party AI language processing service — to generate live explanations when you ask Syra a question or request an expanded explanation
• A third-party voice synthesis service — to generate Syra's spoken voice narration

These providers only receive the minimum information necessary to perform their function and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes. We select reputable, established providers for these services and may update our choice of provider from time to time as the Platform evolves.

4. Data Storage & Security

• Your account data is stored in a secured database on our servers, protected by industry-standard practices including encrypted password storage and HTTPS/SSL encryption for all data in transit.
• Login sessions are managed via secure, time-limited session cookies (valid for 90 days), used solely to keep you logged in — not for advertising or tracking purposes.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and progress data for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period after your subscription expires in case you choose to resubscribe. You may request full deletion of your account and data at any time (see Section 7).

6. Children's Privacy

Syra is used by students preparing for standardized tests, many of whom are under 18. If you are under 18, we require that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed this Privacy Policy and consented to your use of the Platform, including any data collected as part of your study activity. We do not knowingly collect more information from minors than is necessary to provide the service.

7. Your Rights

You may contact us at any time to:

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information in your account
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent for non-essential data uses (note: this may limit your ability to use certain features)

8. Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies necessary for the Platform to function — primarily to keep you logged in. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated via the Platform or email where possible.
